How a margin is calculated

A surebet covers every result of one market. For the match result that is the best home price, the best draw price, and the best away price. For a total or a handicap it is the two prices on the same half-point line, Over 2.5 with Under 2.5 or -1.5 with +1.5, taken from two different books. The same two-price sum covers both teams to score, a double chance against the opposite match result, and one team's total, when those prices are in the snapshot. Add 1 divided by each price, using the two-decimal figures on the card. When that sum is under 1, the margin is (1 − the sum) × 100. The stake under each price is the amount that returns the sum named above the list. What remains is the locked profit. A margin of at least 0.5% is listed. The larger margin comes first. The same margin puts the earlier kickoff first. A margin above 8% stays listed and is marked, because a book can void a price that far from the others. Quarter lines and whole-number lines are left out, because the stake can be split or returned. The bookmaker site can still show a different number.
